When I first moved to Nova Scotia, Shobac Cottages was at the top of my list of Nova Scotia Wedding venues that I wanted to photograph a wedding at. It didn’t disappoint! Shobac Cottages is a collection of beautifully designed cottages nestled into the Nova Scotian coastline by the architect Brian Mackay-Lyons. They’re a blend of classic East Coast vibe and contemporary style; which perfectly matched Emma and Paul’s aesthetic. Emma and Paul’s vision for their wedding was simple; they wanted a close group of friends, good food and a relaxed enjoyable wedding. They very much achieved that!
When I think back to weddings I have photographed in the past, I often feel that the memories I have from the day are not necessarily in the order that they happened. Like any memory of a past event, our brains don’t stick to the exact timeline. I wanted to portray that in this post, to try and show an eclectic collection of candid moments that all blend together. Some memories jog another, some stand alone. At the end of the day, my aim is to leave you with a feeling.
If you’re interested in getting married at Shobac Cottages or anywhere else on the coast in Nova Scotia, please reach out! I love photographing weddings at venues like Shobac Cottages.
